MOSINEE – Following an Auburndale rally, Mosinee scored four times in the fourth inning and added another in the fifth to pull away for a 7-2 nonconference softball win Monday.
Zoe Gburek hit a two-run homer in the first inning for the Indians (11-9), before Auburndale scored single runs in the second – on a home run by Ashlyn Grimm – and in the fourth when Grimm doubled and scored.
Mosinee responded with four runs in the fourth and never looked back.
Auburndale (14-5) will finish its regular season Friday with a nonconference game at home against Neillsville. The Eagles open postseason play with a WIAA Division 4 regional at Edgar on June 14.
Mosinee’s next game is a WIAA Division 2 regional semifinal at Merrill on June 14.
