WAUSAU – Marshfield senior Jaxon Bulgrin shot a 90 to finish in a tie for 36th place at the WIAA Division 1 boys golf sectional on Tuesday at Greenwood Hills Country Club.
Eau Claire Memorial had all five of its golfers break 80 and finish with a team score of 300 to win the team title by 18 strokes over Hudson. Both teams advance to the WIAA State Boys Golf Tournament at Wild Rock Golf Course in Wisconsin Dells on June 14-15.
The top three individuals not on the two qualifying teams also will move on to the state meet. Wausau East’s Carter Cygan shot an even par 72 to win meet medalist honors and claim one of the three individual spots. Andy Ziemer of D.C. Everest and Logan Pechinski of Stevens Point finished in a five-way tie for fifth with 76s to earn the other two spots.
