SPENCER – Bryan Brodziski led Spencer with 14 and six rebounds, and the Rockets pulled away in the middle two quarters, knocking off Owen-Withee 51-37 in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division boys basketball game Friday night.
The win helps Spencer (9-2 overall) keep pace with Marshfield Columbus Catholic for first place in the Cloverbelt East at 9-1. The two square off at Columbus on Thursday.
Spencer led 15-12 after one quarter but used a 26-9 advantage of the second and third quarters to pull away.
Spencer outrebounded the Blackhawks (3-11, 2-8 Cloverbelt East) 28-17 and had 10 offensive rebounds. The Rockets also forced 20 turnovers.
The Rockets play a nonconference game at Abbotsford on Monday.
