OSSEO – Three Osseo pitchers combined on a five-hit shutout as the Merchants defeated the Marshfield Chaparrals 9-0 in amateur baseball action Friday.
Osseo (8-1) scored in five of its eight at-bats and pounded out 11 hits in the home win.
Marshfield starting pitcher Bobby Pilz allowed six runs and seven hits in four innings to suffer the loss.
Jesse Brockman pitched six innings, Aaron Hagberg two, and Storm Standiford the ninth to combine on the shutout.
Brockman had two doubles and scored twice, Neal Matson had a hit and two RBIs, and Jaxon Kostka had two hits and two RBIs to pace Osseo’s offense.
Luke Wirtz went 2-for-3 for Marshfield, which falls to 4-3.
The Chaparrals’ next scheduled game, Sunday at home against Interwald, has been postponed. Marshfield’s next game will be Wednesday at home against the Everest Merchants.
