STEVENS POINT – The Marshfield Post 54 Junior American Legion baseball team won two out of three games at the Stevens Point Junior Tournament on Saturday and Sunday at Bukolt Park.
Marshfield lost 9-5 to Beaver Dam and came back to defeat Middleton 13-4 on Saturday, then defeated Wausau 12-2 on Sunday.
Beaver Dam scored three times in the first, fifth and seventh innings to hold off Marshfield in the opener of the tournament.
Xane Adler had two hits and an RBI, and Braden Anderson had a double and an RBI for Marshfield.
Against Middleton, Braeden Schueller struck out three in 4 2/3 innings to earn the win, and also went 2-for-4 and scored twice for the Junior Devils.
Brady Schmidt added two hits and scored two runs, and Brock Bennington, Cole Halvorsen and Ben Dietsche each had two RBIs in the win for Marshfield.
Sloan Welch threw a six-inning complete game in the victory over Wausau, allowing just two hits.
Adler had three hits and drove in two, Bennington had two hits and three RBIs, and Carston Freis had two hits and two RBIs for the Junior Devils.
Marshfield (4-1) hosts Antigo for a doubleheader on Tuesday at Jack Hackman Field starting at 5:30 p.m.
