SCHOFIELD – D.C. Everest pushed across three runs in the second inning and held on from there, defeating Marshfield 4-1 in the 2021 American Legion baseball opener for both teams on Thursday at Simon Field.
Wyatt Miles drove in two with a single and another run scored on a fielder’s choice in the second inning to put D.C. Everest on top 3-0 against Marshfield starting pitcher Nick Urban.
Marshfield managed to get one run back in the fourth inning on a Dayne Diethelm RBI single, but that was it.
D.C. Everest pitcher Roman Maguire went the distance, striking out six and scattering six hits.
Cam Daul had two of Marshfield’s six hits.
