Stratford has three named first team on 2021 All-Marawood Conference South Baseball Team

Conference co-champions Stratford and Edgar combined for seven first-team selections on the 2021 All-Marawood Conference South Division Baseball Team, as voted on by the six coaches following the season.

Stratford had three unanimous picks to the first team, including Player of the Year Colten Schillinger.

Kale Weisenberger and Riley Bauman were the other first-team honoress for the Tigers, who went 9-1 in the Marawood South and 18-4 overall this season.

Auburndale’s Hunter Wright; Drew Guden, Kyle Brewster, Konnor Wolf and Jordan Bunkelman of Edgar; Marathon’s Brock Warren; and Wausau Newman Catholic’s Dylan Ackermann rounded out the 10-player first team. All but Brewster were unanimous selections.

Schillinger, a senior catcher, hit .375 with a home run, eight RBIs and 17 runs scored for Stratford.

Weisenberger as the Tigers’ top pitcher, going 5-1 with a 1.14 ERA and 41 strikeouts in 37 innings. He also hit .368 with 13 RBIs and 18 runs.

Bauman, an infielder and pitcher, went 4-1 with a 1.56 ERA and 52 strikeouts in 36 innings. He hit .365 with four homers, 14 RBIs and 24 runs scored.

Wright went 5-2 with a 0.73 ERA and struck out 60 in 47 2/3 innings pitched. He also led Auburndale in batting at .391 and in RBIs with 15.

Guden hit .452 with 15 RBIs and 22 runs scored and also went 2-0 with a save for Edgar.

Brewster batted .417 with 13 RBIs and 27 runs, and was 3-1 pitching with a 1.70 ERA; Wolf went 5-1 pitching with a 1.40 ERA and had 30 strikeouts and 30 innings, and also hit .310; and Bunkelman batted 4.90 with two home runs, 27 RBIs and 24 runs scored for Edgar.
Warren went 6-2 with a save on the mound for Marathon, which reached the WIAA state tournament. He had a 1.46 ERA with 70 strikeouts in 57 2/3 innings, and also hit .439 with two homers, 19 RBIs and 18 runs.

Ackermann went 4-4 with a 3.91 ERA and 53 strikeouts in just 34 innings. He hit a robust .519 (27-for-52) with two home runs, 12 RBIs and 22 runs for Newman Catholic.
