MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield Chaparrals amateur baseball won its third-straight game, defeating the Wausau Riverhawks 9-1 on Monday night at Jack Hackman Field.
Caleb Krommenakker was dominant on the mound, allowing one run in six innings while striking out 11 and walking just one to earn the win. Nathan Krommenakker picked up the save, throwing the final three innings without allowing a run.
Caleb Krommenakker also got it done at the plate for the Chaps (8-4 overall), going 4-for-4 with a triple, three runs scored and three RBIs. Jason Kurth, Riley Boushack and Will Lee also had three hits each for Marshfield, which tallied 19 in all.
The Chaparrals host the Whittlesey Reds for a doubleheader starting at noon on Saturday at Jack Hackman Field. Both games will be live at zaleskisports.com.
