Marshfield Legion baseball knocks off Green Bay Shockers in Eau Claire Tournament opener

EAU CLAIRE – The Marshfield American Legion Post 54 baseball team extended its winning streak to six with a 9-6 win over the Green Bay Shockers on the opening day of the three-day Eau Claire Legion Tournament on Friday at Carson Park.

Marshfield scored four times in the fifth inning and added two insurance runs in the sixth to improve to 6-3 this season.

Riley Bauman earned the win with 2 1/3 innings of shutout ball in relief. He also added three hits and drove in four runs for the Blue Devils.

Peter Earll was 2-for-3 and scored three times, and Chandler Schmidt and Adam Zee each drove in two for Marshfield.

Marshfield will play Winona LeJetz (Minn.) at 10 a.m. and host Eau Claire at 8 p.m. on Saturday.
