Marshfield girls tennis defeats Merrill for second-straight WVC win

MARSHFIELD – Marshfield won three singles and two doubles matches in straight sets as it defeated Merrill 5-2 in a Wisconsin Valley Conference girls tennis dual meet Tuesday at the Boson Tennis Complex.

Sydney Newmier at No. 1 singles, Sonia Dissanayaka at No. 3, and Lucy Luedtke at No. 4, and the No. 2 doubles team of Emma Tucker and Maren Hamill, and the No. 3 team of Sam Ridgway and Danielle Minsaas all won in straight sets for Marshfield.

The Tigers improve to 2-0 in the WVC this season and will compete at D.C. Everest on Thursday.
