MARSHFIELD – Marshfield High School will officially induct two classes into its Marshfield Tiger Hall of Fame this weekend.

After festivities were postponed last year, the Hall of Fame will welcome the Class of 2020 and 2021 at a formal induction ceremony on Saturday, Sept. 18, at the Marshfield High School Auditorium at 2 p.m.

The Class of 2020 includes the 1993 boys golf team, former assistant softball coach Wayne Hamlin, and contributor Robert Scheuer.

The Class of 2021 includes the 1994 and 1995 girls tennis teams, wrestler/football player Brad Dolezal, and three-sport athlete Adam Stroik.

The two classes, along with the 2019 class of Danielle Carlson (Winer), Ethan Finlay, Kevin “Tiny” Michalski, and John Schlicht, will be honored at the Marshfield Tiger Booster Bash on Sept. 18. The event at the Marshfield Ice Arena begins at 5 p.m. and includes dinner, drinks, auctions, music, and raffles. Tickets for all attendees are $25 per person.

The 1993 golf team finished third in Division 1 at the WIAA State Tournament at Fox Hills Resort in Mishicot with a two-day score of 649. Team members were Trent David, C.J. Brock, Troy Dankmayer, Rheba Mabie and Chris Kolstad.

Hamlin served as an assistant coach and pitching coach for the Marshfield softball program from 1978-2000, and was an English teacher at the middle school and high school from 1969-2002. Hamlin coached on the staff of the 1991 and 1997 WIAA Division 1 state championship teams, the 1998 state tournament runner-up, and eight Wisconsin Valley Conference championship squads.

Scheuer has been a loyal Marshfield High School sports fan for more than 50 years, and spent many years cooking for the concession stands, rolling the practice fields at the high school and Beell Stadium, and building equipment used by physical education classes and the athletic department.

The 1994 girls tennis team reached the first-ever WIAA State Team Tournament, finishing second. The Tigers won the Wisconsin Valley Conference title without losing a single match, and did the same at sectionals. Team members were Leigh Fish, Trisha Gust, Eileen Moran, Jenny Brayer, Tanya Petcher, Tara Petcher, Katie Hall, Julie Goldberg, Jamie Martin, and Sara Stichert.

The 1995 team followed that up with its sixth-straight Wisconsin Valley Conference title, a sectional championship, and another second-place finish at the WIAA state team tournament. The team also earned the WIAA sportsmanship award. Team members were Eileen Moran, Jenny Brayer, Tanya Petcher, Amy Fiet, Katie Hall, Julie Goldberg, Jamie Martin, Nichole Biodel, Tara Petcher and Sara Stichert. Both teams were coached by Garry Koehler.

Dolezal was a four-time letterwinner in wrestling and three-time letterwinner in football, graduating in 2011. He finished with a career record in wrestling of 172-7, which is the school’s all-time record for wins. He finished undefeated twice in earning state titles. He went on to wrestle at the University of Minnesota, earning three letters and three tournament titles.

Stroik, a 2000 graduate, earned eight letters in football, basketball and baseball. He was a first-team all-Wisconsin Valley Conference linebacker and team captain on the Tigers’ football team that was the Division 1 state runner-up in 1999. He also was a member of the 1997 Division 1 state champion football team, and earned all-conference honors as a catcher in baseball as well during his athletic career. He went on to play football at the Minnesota State University in Mankato and enlisted in the Navy after school.
