NEKOOSA – Stratford scored four touchdowns in the second quarter to take control and went on to finish off a 36-0 shutout of Nekoosa in Central Wisconsin Conference Large Division football action Friday at Nekoosa High School.
Raife Smart had a 17-yard touchdown run in the first quarter to put Stratford on the scoreboard and the Tigers erupted in the second period.
Braeden Schueller threw touchdown passes of 30 yards to Kaden Griesmer and 11 yards to Elijah Lucio, and Lucio returned a punt 45 yards for a score and added a 4-yard TD run as the Tigers rolled to the victory.
Stratford is now 5-0 overall and 3-0 in the Central Wisconsin Conference Large Division. Nekoosa falls to 3-2 and 2-1 in conference play.
Stratford hosts Wittenberg-Birnamwood next Friday, Sept. 24, at 7 p.m. The game will be live at zaleskisports.com.
