Walker breaks school kills record, Columbus Catholic finishes 3-1 at Medford volleyball tournament

MEDFORD –Marshfield Columbus Catholic senior Dorci Walker set a new program kills record and the Dons won three of four matches at the Medford Invitational on Saturday at Medford Area Senior High.

Walker had 68 kills in the Dons’ four matches and broke the school record of 1,135 that was held by Kendra Baierl. She also added 26 digs.

Columbus Catholic defeated Ashland 25-11, 25-19; Stanley-Boyd 25-21, 16-25, 15-12; and Bloomer 24-26, 25-20, 15-11; before losing to Three Lakes 25-20, 25-21.

Jenna Kibbel added 18 kills, 34 digs and seven service aces, Courtney Sommer had 12 kills, 15 digs and 49 assists, Izzy Hoglund had 50 digs and five aces, and Lily Stratman had 37 assists for Columbus Catholic.

Columbus Catholic plays a huge Cloverbelt Conference East Division match at Neillsville on Tuesday. Both teams are undefeated in conference play so far this season. The match can be seen live at zaleskisports.com.
