LODI – The Marshfield volleyball team went a perfect 3-0 to win the championship at the Lodi Invitational on Saturday at Lodi High School.
The Tigers defeated Richland Center 25-7, 25-13, 25-14, and Belleville 26-28, 25-13, 25-13, 25-19, in pool play before taking care of Wisconsin Heights 25-23, 25-20, 25-14, in the championship match.
Reinya Balderson had 86 assists and six service aces, Ashlyn Barwick had 30 digs, and Caitlyn Pernsteiner had 29 kills, including 11 block kills, in the three matches to lead Marshfield.
Abby Ongna added 27 kills and 19 digs, Rylee Corteen added 25 kills and 11 blocks, Casey Frankland had 23 kills and six aces, and Grace Taylor also had 11 blocks for the Tigers.
Marshfield plays a Wisconsin Valley Conference match at Stevens Point on Thursday before taking part in the second WVC meet at Merrill on Saturday, Oct. 9.
