WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Marshfield won 10 of the 11 races to outdistance Wisconsin Rapids 91-79 in a Wisconsin Valley Conference girls swimming dual meet on Thursday at Lincoln High School.
Faith Risa and Skylar Onsager each won two individual events and were part of two relay wins for Marshfield, which is now 2-3 in the Wisconsin Valley Conference.
Faith Risa won the 200 individual medley in 2:25.71 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:13.72, and Onsager was first in the 50 freestyle in 26.28 seconds and the 100 freestyle in 58.46 seconds. The two teamed with Terra Risa and Courtney Donahue to win the 200 medley relay in 2:00.11, and with Brooke Begotka and Lauren Olszewski in the 400 freestyle relay in 4:04.83.
Begotka won the 100 butterfly in 1:02.77, Olszewski took first in the 500 freestyle in 6:19.09, and Terra Risa won the 100 breastroke in 1:13.72 as well for Marshfield.
The Tigers’ final victory came in the 200 freestyle relay as Terra Risa, Donahue, Begotka and Olszewski won in 1:51.31.
Wisconsin Rapids’ lone win came from Paige Stimac in the 200 freestyle in 2:21.57. She was also second in the 100 freestyle in 1:04.44. Rapids is now 0-4 in the Valley.
Marshfield will compete at the Chippewa Falls Invitational on Saturday before hosting Onalaska/Holmen/Aquinas and Lakeland for a nonconference triangular on Tuesday.
Wisconsin Rapids will be off until next Thursday, Oct. 14, when it swims at D.C. Everest.
