MEDFORD – Will Domine and Laurens Kersten scored late to lift the Marshfield boys soccer team to a 2-1 nonconference win over Medford on Tuesday night at Medford High School.

Following a scoreless first half, Quinten Lusty scored on a penalty kick in the 59th minute to give Medford (7-7-1) a 1-0 lead.

Marshfield, which had controlled play for much of the game according to coach Jeff Molter, came alive 10 minutes later.

Domine scored on an assist from Matheus Molina at the 70:04 mark and Kersten put in a goal off an assist from Julian Cloption 44 seconds later to give the Tigers the lead and they held on from there.

“Kudos to our defense of Gavin Young, Braxton Kurth, Caden Iwanski, Afton Hamil, Jacek Mancheski, and Julian Clopton for holding up the defensive end to limit Medford to only five shots on the night,” Molter said.

Marshfield improves to 4-8-3 this season. The Tigers finish their regular season at Stevens Point on Thursday.
