GREEN BAY – The 49th WIAA State Girls Volleyball Tournament and 58th WIAA State Boys Volleyball Tournament was held Thursday, Nov. 4 through Saturday, Nov. 6 at Resch Center.
Luxemburg-Casco (Division 2) and Howards Grove (Division 3) each won its third-straight state championship.
Last year’s runner-up in Division 4, Chippewa Falls McDonell, won this year’s championship. McDonell also won a state title in 2009.
Oconomowoc won the Division 1 title match, sweeping Appleton North 3-0. The title is Oconomowoc’s first after finishing runner-up three times in the last six years.
The Division 4 field features three first-time state tournament qualifiers in Monticello, Wonewoc-Center and Wabeno/Laona. Last year’s runner-up Chippewa Falls McDonell rounds out the Division 4 tournament.
Milwaukee Marquette, which was making its 20th-straight state tournament appearance and won its 10th overall title with a 3-2 victory over Westosha Central.
