Auburndale girls basketball tops Stratford

AUBURNDALE – Annamarie Aue scored 18 points to lead four Auburndale players in double figures as the Eagles defeated Stratford 59-47 in a Marawood Conference South Division girls basketball game Tuesday at Auburndale High School.

Auburndale jumped out to a 31-22 lead by halftime and were able to maintain its lead in the second half to improve to 2-0 overall and in the Marawood South this season.

Aliah Hamus and Gracie Krings each had 11 points, and Samantha Stanton added 10 for Auburndale.

Lauren Kraus, Ella Heidmann and Tessa Berg each scored eight points for Stratford, which falls to 0-2 overall and in conference play.

Auburndale hosts Rosholt on Monday and Stratford will play at Neillsville next Tuesday.
