AUBURNDALE – Jaden Koeller and Ben Robbins each scored 11 points in the second half to lift Marathon to a 70-62 win over Auburndale in the Marawood Conference South Division boys basketball opener for both teams on Tuesday night at Auburndale High School.
The game was tied 28-28 at halftime before Marathon was able to pull away behind Koeller, who finished with 18 points, and Robbins, who added 13.
Grant Warren added 15 points, Noah Gage drilled three 3-pointers and scored 12, and Nathan Hanke chipped in 11 for the Raiders, who were making their season debut.
Alex Willfahrt had 18 points and seven rebounds, and Terrance Cottrell-Roberson added 14 points for Auburndale, which falls to 0-2 overall.
Both teams will return to action Friday for Marawood Conference crossover games. Marathon will host Chequamegon and Auburndale will be at home against Abbotsford.
