Auburndale girls basketball routs Abbotsford

AUBURNDALE – Ashlyn Grimm scored 17 points, including 13 in the second half, as the Auburndale girls basketball team won its fourth game in a row to start the season, beating Abbotsford 61-32 in a Marawood Conference crossover game Friday at Auburndale High School.

The Eagles (4-0, 3-0 Marawood South) ran out to a 29-10 lead by halftime and outscored Abbotsford (3-2, 1-2 Marawood North) by 10 in the second half to finish off the victory.

Annamarie Aue added eight points and Josie Ertl chipped in seven for Auburndale.

Sommer Brodhagen scored 12 points for Abbotsford.

Both teams return to conference action on Tuesday. Abbotsford will be at Prentice and Auburndale will travel to Wausau Newman Catholic.
