STEVENS POINT – Stevens Point won 10 of the 11 races and eased past Marshfield 107-63 in a Wisconsin Valley Conference boys swimming battle on Tuesday at Stevens Point Area Senior High.
Kyle Berres grabbed Marshfield’s only win, taking first in the 50-yard freestyle in 23.96 seconds. The Tigers are now 2-1 in WVC duals this season.
Will Gargulak won the 200 individual medley in 2:16.80 and the 100 butterfly in 58.76 seconds, Cade Casey took first in the 100 freestyle (53.26) and the 100 backstroke (57.70), and Konnor Pilger was first in the 200 freestyle (1:52.98) and the 500 freestyle (5:10.09) for Stevens Point. All three were also part of two winning relay teams for the Panthers, who are now 2-0 in WVC duals.
Marshfield will jump back into action Thursday at Wausau East, while Stevens Point will host Wisconsin Rapids in WVC action.
