KAUKAUNA – The Marshfield boys basketball team grabbed its first win of the season, downing Kaukauna 74-54 in the Baird/Gustman Shootout on Saturday night at Kaukauna High School.
The Tigers are now 1-3 this season, while Kaukauna, which is coached by Marshfield High School graduate Mike Schalow, falls to 2-3.
Marshfield drilled 14 of 26 3-point attempts in the win. Chase Hinson had five 3-pointers to scored a team-high 19 points, and Gavin Fravert and Brooks Hinson each had four 3-pointers and 16 points for the Tigers.
Carson Kvernen added 14 points and eight rebounds as well for Marshfield.
Marshfield shot 51 percent overall (27-for-52).
