Stratford girls basketball knocks off Loyal

STRATFORD – Lauren Kraus had 17 points and nine rebounds to lead the Stratford girls basketball team to its second-straight win, a 43-32 nonconference victory over Loyal on Tuesday at Stratford High School.

The Tigers (3-4) shot 49 percent from the field (16-for-33) and made 9 of 12 at the free throw line to methodically pull past Loyal (1-4).

Abrial Kubista scored 10 points for the Greyhounds.

Both teams return to action Thursday. Loyal travels to Spencer for a Cloverbelt Conference East Division game and Stratford will host Edgar in Marawood Conference South Division action. The Stratford-Edgar game will be live at zaleskisports.com.
