MARSHFIELD – Leo Losch scored 3:18 into overtime to lift Rhinelander to a come-from-behind 4-3 victory over Marshfield in a nonconference boys hockey game Tuesday at the Marshfield Ice Arena.
Marshfield led 3-2 after goals from Noah Peterson and Jacek Mancheski in the first period, and Henry Hoerneman 1:48 into the third period.
The Tigers maintained their slim lead until Rhinelander’s Zach Edyvean scored with 2:15 remaining and the game went into overtime where Losch won it.
Cole Halvorsen had 32 saves in goal for Marshfield (4-3). Garrett Kulhanek saved 28 shots for the Hodags (5-2).
Marshfield plays a Wisconsin Valley Conference game at D.C. Everest on Thursday at 7 p.m. Rhinelander returns to Great Northern Conference action Thursday at home against Tomahawk.
