AUBURNDALE – Gracie Krings scored all 12 of her points in the second half as the Auburndale girls basketball team held off Wisconsin Rapids Assumption 40-34 in a Marawood Conference South Division battle Thursday night at Auburndale High School.
Following a sluggish first half, where Auburndale led 10-8 at intermission, both teams found their offensive rhythm in the second half with the Eagles holding a 30-26 advantage to earn the win.
Annamarie Aue scored 10 of her 14 points in the second half as well for Auburndale, which remains undefeated at 7-0 overall and 5-0 in the Marawood South.
Ainara Sainz de Rozas scored 13 points to lead the Royals, who fall to 6-2 overall and 3-2 in the Marawood South.
Assumption plays at Loyal in a nonconference game Monday. Auburndale is off until Tuesday when it travels to Bangor for a nonconference contest.
