SPENCER – Spencer held Loyal to two made baskets in the second half and held on for a 29-17 win in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division girls basketball matchup Thursday at Spencer High School.
Spencer held a 16-11 lead at halftime and clamped down further defensively in the second half, holding the Greyhounds to six points to remain undefeated in the Cloverbelt East at 5-0 (5-3 overall).
Heavyn Kind scored 15 points for the Rockets.
Abrial Kubista had eight points for Loyal, which drops to 1-5 overall and 1-3 in conference play.
Loyal hosts Wisconsin Rapids Assumption for a nonconference game on Monday and Granton for a Cloverbelt East game Tuesday. Spencer will play at Neillsville in a game Tuesday in a battle of undefeated Cloverbelt East teams.
