Marshfield boys basketball holds off D.C. Everest for third-straight win

SCHOFIELD – Carson Kvernen had 21 points and nine rebounds to lead the Marshfield boys basketball team to a 74-71 win over D.C. Everest in a Wisconsin Valley Conference contest Friday night at D.C. Everest High School.

Marshfield shot 51 percent from the field (29-for-57) to overcome a 12-for-21 performance at the free throw line and win its third game in a row.

Luke LeMoine added 16 points, and Gavin Fravert and Carston Freis each chipped in 11 for the Tigers, who are now 3-3 overall and 2-0 in the WVC.

D.C. Everest falls to 1-5 and 0-1 in the Wisconsin Valley Conference.

Marshfield will host Wausau East in a WVC game Tuesday at 7:15 p.m. The game will be live at zaleskisports.com.
