Stratford boys basketball routs Owen-Withee in home tournament opener

STRATFORD – The Stratford boys basketball team shot 52 percent from the field and handled Owen-Withee 65-44 in a semifinal of its home Stratford Holiday Tournament on Wednesday at Stratford High School.

The Tigers made 26 of 50 shots in the win, improving to 8-1 this season.

Cam Daul scored 16 points, and Ashton Wrensch added 14 points and 11 rebounds for Stratford.

Bangor defeated Wausau East 76-67 in the other semifinal Wednesday. East (2-7) will take on Owen-Withee (3-5) in the third-place game at 5:45 p.m. with Stratford playing Bangor (5-1) for the tournament title at 7:15 p.m. Thursday.
