Auburndale girls basketball grabs road win at Marathon

MARATHON – Josie Ertl had 20 points and Ashlyn Grimm added 17 to lead the Auburndale girls basketball team to a 62-45 win over Marathon in a Marawood Conference South Division game Thursday at Marathon High School.

The win allows the Eagles to maintain their one-half game lead on top of the Marawood South standings as they improve to 11-3 overall and 7-1 in conference.

Auburndale led 32-18 at halftime and were able to hold on the rest of the way.

Marathon falls to 6-6 and 4-3 in the Marawood South.

Auburndale plays at Stratford on Tuesday. The game will be live at zaleskisports.com.
