Spencer girls basketball outlast Columbus Catholic

MARSHFIELD – Heavyn Kind scored 16 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead the Spencer girls basketball team to a 37-27 win over Marshfield Columbus Catholic in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division matchup Thursday at Columbus Catholic High School.

Amber Becker chipped in eight points for the Rockets, who are now 10-5 overall and 8-1 in the Cloverbelt East.

Columbus Catholic falls to 7-8 overall and 5-5 in the Cloverbelt East as it suffered its fifth-straight loss.

Sam Casperson led Columbus with 10 points.

Both teams return to conference action Tuesday. Columbus Catholic will play at Granton and Spencer hosts Owen-Withee.
