WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Megan Clary poured in a career-high 36 points to lead the Wisconsin Rapids girls basketball team to a 60-53 win over Marshfield in a Wisconsin Valley Conference game Friday at Lincoln High School.
Clary had six 3-pointers for the Raiders, who pulled out to a 30-17 lead by halftime and were able to hold off a surge from the Tigers in the second half.
Marshfield cut a 20-point Rapids lead to five in the second half, but the Raiders were able to finish off the win to improve to 8-6 overall and 6-2 in the WVC. Marshfield falls to 8-8 and 4-3 in the conference.
Abby Ongna had 12 points and Zaida Kolbeck scored 11 for Marshfield.
Wisconsin Rapids plays nonconference games at Menasha on Saturday and Chippewa Falls on Tuesday. Marshfield will host Merrill for a Wisconsin Valley Conference game on Tuesday and it will be live at zaleskisports.com at 7:15 p.m.
