RIB LAKE – The Auburndale girls basketball team used a big advantage at the free throw line to hold off Rib Lake 57-46 in a Marawood Conference crossover game on Friday at Rib Lake High School.

Auburndale led 23-14 at halftime and held off a pesky Rib Lake team that stayed close but couldn’t get past the Eagles as made 17 of 30 free throws, while Rib Lake was just 9 of 19.

Annamarie Aue led Auburndale (13-3, 9-1 Marawood South) with 13 points in a balanced scoring attack. Delaney Becker, Lilly Hasenohrl and Ashlyn Grimm each chipped in eight points for the Eagles.

Danielle Mann led Rib Lake (4-10, 3-6 Marawood North) with 17 points.

Auburndale plays a Marawood crossover game at North Division leader Phillips on Tuesday before hosting Wausau Newman Catholic for a South Division contest Thursday.
