MADISON – Katie Wolff, a 2009 graduate of Marshfield High School, scored a team-high 11 points in Winona State University’s women’s basketball exhibition game against the University of Wisconsin on Thursday night at the Kohl Center.
Wolff made 2 of 9 shots from the field, including 1 of 4 from 3-point range, and hit all six of her free-throw attempts in Winona State’s 82-53 loss.
Wolff, a starting guard for the Warriors, was fourth on the team in scoring last year, averaging 8.7 points a game as she started nine games as a freshman, while playing in all 28.
Wolff led the Warriors, who finished 17-11, in 3-point percentage at 49.0 percent (48 of 98) and free-throw percentage at 93.1 percent (27 of 29). She also averaged 2.8 rebounds a game and was third on the team with 79 assists.
Tara Steinbauer led Wisconsin with 15 points and 10 rebounds.
