Spencer girls basketball eases past Gilman

GILMAN – Heavyn Kind scored 16 of her game-high 26 points in the second half to help the Spencer girls basketball team pull away and defeat Gilman 45-34 in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division matchup Friday night at Gilman High School.

Kind hit a pair of 3-pointers and was 6-for-6 at the free throw line in the second half as the Rockets extended a four-point halftime lead to double digits by game’s end.

Rebecca Mlsna and Madison Knect each kicked in six points for Spencer (13-5, 10-1 Cloverbelt East).

Spencer plays at Greenwood on Tuesday as part of a girls-boys doubleheader that begins at 6 p.m. The games will be live-streamed at zaleskisports.com.
