CHIPPEWA FALLS – Chippewa Falls McDonell held Marshfield Columbus Catholic to nine made baskets and pulled away in the second half to defeat the Dons 56-24 in a nonconference girls basketball game Saturday at McDonell High School.
McDonell led 21-11 at halftime before extending its lead with a 35-13 advantage in the second half.
Maggie Callaghan had seven points and Sam Casperson scored six for the Dons, who fall to 8-9 this season.
Emily Cooper led McDonell (15-3) with 12 points.
Columbus Catholic plays a Cloverbelt Conference East Division game at Owen-Withee on Tuesday.
