Wausau West shuts out Marshfield boys hockey

MARSHFIELD – Adam Prokop saved all 15 shots he saw in goal to lift Wausau West to a 5-0 shutout win over Marshfield in a Wisconsin Valley Conference boys hockey game Thursday at the Marshfield Ice Arena.

Grant Halmstad scored twice, and Judah Leder, Cade Bruber and Ray Reineck added goals for the Warriors, who improve to 12-8-2 overall and 8-1 in the Wisconsin Valley Conference to clinch no worse than a share of the conference title.

Cole Halvorsen had 22 saves in goal for Marshfield (11-10-1, 4-5 WVC).

Marshfield plays at Stevens Point on Feb. 10 in its conference finale.
