MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic girls basketball team used a huge second-half run to defeat Greenwood 50-28 in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division matchup Thursday night at Columbus Catholic High School.
The Dons led 21-19 at halftime before opening up their lead with a dominant second half as they outscored Greenwood 29-9 over the final 18 minutes.
Jenna Kibbel scored 26 points, making 11 of 12 free throws, to lead the way for Columbus Catholic. Hailey Zimmermann added 11 points for the Dons (10-9, 8-5 Cloverbelt East).
Avry Wuethrich led Greenwood (3-16, 2-11 Cloverbelt East) with 10 points.
Both teams return to action Tuesday. Columbus Catholic will be at Gilman and Greenwood hosts Granton in Cloverbelt East games.
