Columbus Catholic girls basketball falls at Gilman

GILMAN – Gilman pulled out to a seven-point lead at halftime and was able to hold on for a 39-28 win over Marshfield Columbus Catholic in a low-scoring Cloverbelt Conference East Division girls basketball game Tuesday night at Gilman High School.

Tatum Weir had 11 points and Madisyn James went 6-for-8 at the free throw line and chipped in nine points for the Pirates (15-7, 10-5 Cloverbelt East), who won for the fourth time in their last five games.

Maggie Callaghan had 12 points for the Dons, who drop to 10-10 and 8-6 in conference play.

Columbus Catholic plays at Loyal on Friday.
