MARSHFIELD – The Neillsville girls basketball team finished off an undefeated Cloverbelt Conference East Division championship season with a 57-26 victory over Marshfield Columbus Catholic on Monday at Columbus Catholic High School.
The Warriors rolled out to a 31-14 lead by halftime behind eight points each from Delaney Rochester and Amelia Trunkel, and held Columbus Catholic to just nine made baskets in the victory.
Trunkel finished with 14 points and Rochester added 10 for Neillsville, which is now 21-2 overall and finishes 16-0 in the Cloverbelt East.
Hailey Zimmermann scored eight points for Columbus Catholic (11-11, 9-7 Cloverbelt East).
Columbus Catholic will play the fourth-place game of the Cloverbelt Conference crossovers at Cadott on Thursday. Neillsville will take on Osseo-Fairchild in the first-place game Saturday at Osseo-Fairchild.
