Colby outlasts Stratford boys basketball

STRATFORD – Kaden Wiese scored 21 points to lead Colby to a hard-fought 72-67 win over Stratford in a nonconference boys basketball game Tuesday at Stratford High School.

The game was tight throughout as Colby clung to a 36-35 lead at halftime and were able to pull out the win at the end.

Richard Streveler added 17 points and Tevin Rue had 13 for Colby (14-5).

Cam Daul had five 3-pointers and finished with 22 points and 10 rebounds for Stratford (18-3).

Braeden Schueller added four 3-pointers and 16 points for the Tigers.

Colby hosts Spencer in its Cloverbelt Conference East Division finale on Friday.

Stratford will be at Edgar for a Marawood Conference South Division game on Friday. The game will be broadcast live at zaleskisports.com at 7:15 p.m.

The two teams will meet again Monday at Colby High School.
