Marshfield girls basketball holds off Stevens Point to win regular-season finale

STEVENS POINT – The Marshfield girls basketball team built a 12-point lead in the second half and held off a late rally to defeat Stevens Point 58-55 in the regular-season finale for both teams on Thursday night at Stevens Point Area Senior High.

Dani Minsaas scored 17 points and Ayana Bousum added 11 for Marshfield, with both hitting three 3-pointers.

Zaida Kolbeck added 10 points for the Tigers, who finish the regular season at 13-9 and the Wisconsin Valley Conference season at 8-4.

Zoe Fink scored 14 points and Emma Jossie had 11 for Stevens Point (10-14, 6-6 Wisconsin Valley Conference).

Both teams will have a week off before starting postseason play Feb. 25. Marshfield will be at Kimberly and Stevens Point will travel to Neenah for WIAA Division 1 regional semifinals next Friday.
