Columbus Catholic girls basketball drops Cloverbelt crossover at Cadott

CADOTT – Cadott jumped out to a double-digit lead by halftime and went on to defeat Marshfield Columbus Catholic 47-30 in the fourth-place game of the Cloverbelt Conference crossovers on Thursday night at Cadott High School.

The Hornets (18-6) led 24-13 at halftime and were able to hold on from there.

Elly Eiler led Cadott with 19 points and Lauryn Goettl added 12 in the win.

Maggie Callaghan scored 12 points for Columbus Catholic, which finishes the regular season with an 11-12 record.

Columbus Catholic hosts Wausau Newman Catholic in a WIAA Division 5 regional quarterfinal on Tuesday at 7 p.m. The game will be live-streamed at zaleskisports.com.
