WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Auburndale boys basketball team jumped out to an 18-point lead by halftime and went on to defeat Wisconsin Rapids Assumption 62-46 in a Marawood Conference South Division contest Friday night at Assumption High School.
Lucas Yeske hit four 3-pointers and scored 21 points to lead the way for Auburndale, which improves to 15-8 overall and 9-6 in the Marawood South.
Alex Willfahrt added 14 points and Caden Weinfurter chipped in nine for the Eagles, who won for the 14th time in their last 16 games.
Reed Duellman had 12 points and Nick Leberg had nine for Assumption (10-12, 5-10 Marawood South).
Assumption plays a nonconference game at Westfield on Monday, and both teams will wrap up their Marawood South and regular-season schedules Thursday. Auburndale will host Edgar and Assumption plays at Marathon.
