COLBY – Less than a week after losing a close game to Colby, the Stratford boys basketball team responded with a 73-59 win in the rematch on Monday at Colby High School.
Colby defeated Stratford 72-67 last Tuesday in the nonconference matchup, but this time it was the Tigers that prevailed.
Stratford outscored Colby by seven points in each half to pull out the win and improve to 20-3.
Cam Daul had 24 points and 11 rebounds, and Brady Schmidt scored 11 points on the strength of three 3-pointers, for the Tigers.
Richard Streveler and Kaden Wiese each scored 13 points for Colby (15-6).
Stratford plays a Marawood Conference South Division game at Wausau Newman Catholic on Thursday, needing a win to clinch at least a share of the conference title. The game will be live-streamed at zaleskisports.com.
Colby will host Bloomer in the third-place game of the Cloverbelt Conference crossovers on Thursday.
