AUBURNDALE – Lucas Yeske scored 21 points to lead the Auburndale boys basketball team to a 54-40 win over Edgar in the Marawood Conference South Division and regular-season finale for both teams on Thursday at Auburndale High School.
Auburndale raced out to a 10-point lead by halftime and were able to hold off the Wildcats the rest of the way.
Caden Weinfurter added 13 points for the Eagles, who are now 16-8 overall and finish 10-6 in the Marawood South.
Ayden Weisenberger led Edgar (12-11, 8-8 Marawood South) with 10 points.
Both teams will open postseason play with WIAA regional quarterfinals on Tuesday. Auburndale hosts Montello in a Division 4 matchup, and Edgar will be at home against Wisconsin Valley Lutheran in a Division 5 game. Both games start at 7 p.m.
