KIMBERLY – Kimberly used a 10-0 run late in the game to pull past Marshfield and win 58-51 in a WIAA Division 1 girls basketball regional semifinal Friday night at Kimberly High School.
Marshfield led 46-42 with approximately 6 minutes to go before the Papermakers scored 10-straight points to pull ahead for good.
The Tigers came as close as three in the final minute on a basket by Ayana Bousum, but couldn’t get any closer at Kimberly finished the game at the free throw line.
Dani Minsaas scored 20 points and Bousum added 17 for the No. 10 seed Marshfield, which finishes the season with a 13-10 record.
No. 7 seed Kimberly (15-10) moves on to a D-1 regional final at No. 2 Appleton East (21-4) on Saturday. East defeated Appleton North 53-35 on Friday.
MaKenzie Drout scored 25 points for Kimberly.
