WAUTOMA – The Auburndale softball team dropped its season opener, losing 7-1 to Wautoma on Monday at Bird Creek Park.
The Eagles were held to four hits in the loss. Mya Krings had two of the team’s hits and Kimmie Lundgren drove in Auburndale’s only run in the top of the first inning.
Ashlyn Grimm took the loss, striking out four and walking four while allowing nine hits.
Auburndale is scheduled to play at Phillips on Friday.
