Marshfield girls grab three top 20s at Wisconsin State Indoor Track Championships

WHITEWATER – The Marshfield track team had eight individual competitors and one relay team compete at the Wisconsin State Indoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.

Sophie Nikolay had Marshfield’s top finish, taking eighth place in the pole vault as she equaled her personal best with a vault of 10 feet, 6 inches.

The Tigers’ girls 800-meter relay team of Ellie Jensen, Dani Minsaas, Samantha Ridgway and Ashley Grancorvitz placed 19th with a time of 1:54.74, a season-best for the relay team.

Aubri Brown finished 17th in the girls shot put with a toss of 32-3, Meghan Jaeger was 46th in the 1,600 in 5:50.07, and Grancorvitz took 47th in the long jump with a leap of 14-8¾ for the Marshfield girls.

Henry Hoerneman took 29th in the boys 1,600 for Marshfield, running in 4:43.71.

Also competing for the Tigers were Olivia Page and McKenzie Holm in the 60-meter dash, and Lizzie Hanson in the 60-meter hurdles.
