MAUSTON – The Edgar and Auburndale baseball teams opened their Marawood Conference South Division schedule with a doubleheader split Tuesday at the Woodside Sports Complex.
Due to wet field conditions, the series that was supposed to take place with single games at Edgar on Monday and Auburndale on Tuesday was moved to Woodside Sports Complex for a doubleheader.
Edgar won Game 1 7-3 and Auburndale responded with a 12-8 victory in the nightcap. Edgar was playing its season-opening games, while Auburndale moves to 1-3 overall.
Keghan Hartway went 4-for-4 with three RBI, and Peyton Dahlke added three hits and scored twice in the Game 1 win for Edgar.
Alex Willfahurt and Ian Brown each had three hits for Auburndale.
In Game 2, Auburndale overcame an early 4-0 deficit by scoring all 12 of its runs between the second and fifth innings, busting the game open with five in the fourth and four more in the fifth.
Blake Raab picked up the win, going six innings with five strikeouts. He also had three hits and drove in a pair of runs for the Eagles.
Willfahrt, Kaden Anderson and Tim Schmitt added two hits and two RBI each in the victory.
Everet Brehm went 4-for-5 and scored twice for Edgar.
