Auburndale baseball pounds Assumption

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Eight different Auburndale players had hits and 10 players scored at least one run as the Eagles rolled to a 19-1 win over Wisconsin Rapids Assumption in a Marawood Conference South Division baseball game Tuesday at Witter Field.

Blake Raab and Ian Brown each went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBI to lead the Eagles, who had 13 hits in all in the victory.

Alex Willfahrt added two hits and Aden Cherney scored four times for Auburndale (2-3, 2-1 Marawood South).

Raab also picked up the win on the mound for the Eagles, allowing three hits and no runs in four innings, striking out eight.

Aaron Livernash had two of Assumption’s five hits and knocked in the team’s lone run in the fifth inning. The Royals fall to 0-2 overall and in the Marawood South.

Both teams will host nonconference games on Thursday as Assumption plays Port Edwards and Auburndale will take on Abbotsford/Colby.
